We will use this in professional development with our teachers in conjunction with the Mathematical Practices activity to develop a better understanding of where we are going with how we teach.
This is an activity that I use to introduce different types of sampling. S IC.1Understand statistics as a process for making inferences about population parameters based on a random sample from that population.
It uses Jelly blubbers to take a variety of samples.
A website we have found helpful with an integrated approach is www.sascurriculumpathways.com. The website provides lessons and web-based inquiries for all content areas. Each lesson and/or inquiry provides a teacher guide, handouts, websites for information, and provides which standards are covered with the lesson or inquiry.
